Real price bands for websites, stores and applications — what moves the number, what the ongoing costs are, and the six things to check in any Pune quote before you sign it. These are the same figures we quote from.
The short answer
Website development in Pune costs ₹14,999 to ₹35,000 for a 4–6 page starter site, ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000 for a 10–20 page business website with a CMS — the most common bracket — ₹75,000 to ₹3,00,000 for an e-commerce store, and ₹2,50,000 and upward for a custom application with user logins. Add ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 per year for domain and hosting, and ₹1,500 to ₹8,000 a month if you want maintenance.
One-time build cost. Every band states page count and revision rounds, because a quote that does not is not comparable to one that does.
₹14,999 – ₹35,000
1–2 weeks
New firms, consultants and single-service businesses that need to exist credibly online.
₹40,000 – ₹1,20,000
3–5 weeks
Established businesses competing for search traffic. The most common bracket across PCMC.
₹75,000 – ₹3,00,000
5–9 weeks
Retailers and D2C brands selling online, on Shopify or WooCommerce.
₹2,50,000+
10+ weeks
Portals, dashboards, marketplaces, booking platforms — anything with user logins.
Apps are quoted separately from websites because the cost driver is the number of user types, not the number of screens.
| Type of app | Typical cost | Timeline | What drives it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple app (catalogue, booking, content) | ₹1,50,000 – ₹4,00,000 | 6–10 weeks | Cross-platform build, one codebase for Android and iOS, no payment or logistics complexity. |
| E-commerce / D2C app | ₹3,50,000 – ₹8,00,000 | 10–16 weeks | Catalogue, cart, payment gateway, order tracking, push notifications and an admin panel. |
| Food or grocery delivery platform | ₹6,00,000 – ₹18,00,000 | 16–28 weeks | Three apps, not one: customer, rider and vendor — plus a dispatch dashboard and live tracking. This is why the band jumps. |
| Custom enterprise / SaaS app | ₹8,00,000+ | 20+ weeks | Role-based access, integrations, reporting, and an architecture built to be maintained for years rather than launched once. |
Six variables explain almost every difference between two Pune quotes.
The most direct lever. A six-page site and a forty-page site with locality and service pages differ mostly in writing and structural time, not in design. Ask any quote to state page count explicitly — vagueness here is where scope disputes start.
Frequently the hidden half of a project. If you supply finished copy and images, the build is faster and cheaper. If the agency researches and writes, expect ₹1,500–₹4,000 per page. Most delayed projects in Pune are delayed on content, not code.
A licensed theme configured to your brand is materially cheaper and perfectly legitimate for many businesses. Custom UI/UX design adds cost but is worth it when the interface is the product — an app, a portal, a store with unusual flows.
Payment gateway, ERP or Tally, CRM, shipping aggregator, WhatsApp API, live rate feeds. Each is real engineering with its own testing and failure cases. Two or three integrations can add more than the base website cost.
The moment a site needs accounts, permissions and data that belongs to a specific user, it stops being a website and becomes an application. Security, sessions and access control are the reason the custom band starts where it does.
A site that has to rank needs a structure and content plan built in from the start. Retro-fitting that onto a finished brochure site costs more than including it, which is why we scope it at the beginning or deliberately leave it out.
A .in or .com renewed annually. Register it in your own name, not the agency's.
Shared hosting is adequate for most business sites. Stores and applications need more, typically ₹15,000–₹60,000 a year.
Free via Let's Encrypt on most hosts. Paid certificates are rarely necessary for a standard business site.
Core and plugin updates, backups, uptime monitoring and security patching. Skipping this is the most common cause of a hacked WordPress site.
Zero if you were given a CMS your own team can use, which you should have been. Ask this question before you sign.
Optional and separate. A site is not marketing; a site is where marketing lands.
This list applies to any agency in Pune, including us. Ask all six.
If the proposal does not say how many pages, templates and revision rounds are included, every disagreement later resolves in the agency's favour. Get the numbers in writing.
Usually a template with your logo on it, hosted on the provider's account, on a domain you may not control, with no CMS access. The cost arrives later — when you want to leave and cannot take the site with you.
Ask directly: at the end of this, do I hold the domain, the hosting login, the CMS admin and the source code? If the answer is anything other than a clear yes, the price is not the price.
Two rounds is standard. Unlimited revisions is either a fiction or priced in. Undefined revisions is how a fixed-price project becomes an argument.
Razorpay or PayU onboarding, GST-compliant invoicing, refund and privacy policies — cheap to include, expensive to discover you need three days before launch.
Over 80% of Indian traffic is mobile, often on a mid-range Android on 4G. A build that is not fast on that hardware is not finished, and should not be billed as an upgrade.
For most Pune businesses, a professional website costs between ₹14,999 and ₹1,20,000 as a one-time build. A 4–6 page starter site runs ₹14,999 to ₹35,000. The most common bracket — a 10–20 page business website with a CMS, service and location pages, schema and speed work — runs ₹40,000 to ₹1,20,000. E-commerce stores run ₹75,000 to ₹3,00,000, and custom applications with user logins start around ₹2,50,000. On top of the build, budget ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 a year for domain and hosting.
Six things move the number: page count, who writes the content, whether design is custom or template-based, how many third-party systems have to be integrated, whether the site needs user logins, and whether SEO structure is built in from the start. Two quotes that look wildly different are usually describing genuinely different projects. The way to compare them is to force both onto the same page count, the same integration list and the same content responsibility.
Rarely, and the reason is usually ownership rather than quality. At that price you are typically getting a template on the provider's hosting, on a domain they registered, with no CMS admin access and no source code. It works until you want to change agency, at which point you often cannot take the site with you. If your budget genuinely is ₹10,000, a well-configured single landing page you fully own is a better buy than a ten-page site you do not.
A simple cross-platform app runs ₹1,50,000 to ₹4,00,000. An e-commerce app is ₹3,50,000 to ₹8,00,000. A food or grocery delivery platform is ₹6,00,000 to ₹18,00,000 — the jump is because it is three applications plus a dispatch system, not one app. Custom enterprise and SaaS products start around ₹8,00,000. Anyone quoting a delivery platform at ₹1,00,000 is quoting a demo, not a system that survives real orders.
Domain ₹800–₹1,500 a year, hosting ₹4,000–₹12,000 a year for a standard business site, SSL usually free, and maintenance ₹1,500–₹8,000 a month for updates, backups and security patching. Content changes should cost you nothing if you were given a CMS you can use. SEO is separate and optional at ₹15,000–₹50,000 a month. A quote that never mentions ongoing costs is not a complete quote.
Fixed price against a written scope for website and store projects, because you should be able to budget the number. Custom applications begin with a paid discovery phase that produces a specification, and we quote the build from that — quoting a complex application before anyone has defined it produces a number that is wrong in one direction or the other. We do not bill hourly on fixed-scope work.
Yes, entirely. Domain and hosting are registered in your name, you hold the CMS admin, and source code is handed over at the end of a custom build. This should be the default everywhere and often is not — ask it as a direct question of any agency you are comparing, and get the answer in the proposal rather than in a conversation.
A starter site is 1–2 weeks, a business website 3–5 weeks, an e-commerce store 5–9 weeks and a custom application 10 weeks and up. In practice the schedule is usually decided by how quickly content and approvals come back from your side, not by development capacity, which is why we publish named review dates at kickoff.
